R ARIVANANTHAM
CHENNAI, MAY 4

Eminent Tamil Poet Vairamuthu on Wednesday said Tamil will become the national language of India soon and no chance for Hindi to become national language.

Answering to a query of R Arivanantham, Executive Editor of navjeevanexpress.com, Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu said, “I do agree with the opinion of singer Sonu Nigam that Tamil is the oldest language and will become the national language soon. Further, European language experts have also reiterated that Tamil is the world’s oldest language. Tamil ‘theyamalum sayamalum irukiradhu’ (continues to maintain its prominence by not vanishing with the times) whereas Sanskrit has lost its prominence.”
