Thanjavur Super Kings emerged as the winners of the 2023 India Cements Pro League (ICPL) Tournament, beating Madurai Super Kings by 14 runs in the final held here on Sunday.
N Aravinthan scored a half century for Thanjavur, while Chandramohan from Madurai took three wickets. Earlier, in the semifinal stages which were held on the same day, Madurai Super Kings beat Bhavani Sangamam Super Kings in the first semifinal, while Thanjavur Super Kings beat Kallakurichi Super Kings in the second semifinal.

India cricketer Vijay Shankar, CSKCL CEO KS Viswanathan, India Cements Chief Marketing Officer R Parthasarathy, Engineer KG Jayaprakash, Sports Committee Chairman, Cricket, FACEAT and P and Engineer Ravi, President of FACEAT and P were the other guests of honour.
Addressing the teams, Vijay Shankar said, “It is definitely not easy for Engineers to play the game at this level. Being at a different profession, having so much love for sport, I think sport is the only thing we can imagine doing this. It is so good to come here and see this energy and vibe.”
