TN Chief Minister extends full lockdown till June 7

Day after expressing his ‘no complete satisfaction’ in COVID-19 spread, Tamil Nadu government headed by Chief Minister M K Stalin on Friday announced the extension of the COVID-19-induced state-wide lockdown for one more week till 6 am on June 7 without any relaxations.

In a 2-page release issued here, the Chief Minister also said that provision stores would be allowed to sell essential supplies through carts or vehicles in their respective localities with prior permission from local bodies.

“Provision stores are also allowed to receive orders either online or over phone and deliver supplies at the customers’ residence between 7 am and 6 pm,” Stalin added.

The Cooperation and Consumer Protection Department has been instructed to distribute a kit containing 13 provision supplies to every rice ration cardholder through ration shops for the month of June.
