The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA), which gives importance to gender equality and always been a front runner in promoting, developing cricket among boys and girls is all set to conduct the fourth edition of Freyer Cup T20 League tournament 2023-2024 for women here from June 26 and the final would be played on June 29.
It will also be organising a one-day tournament which commences on July 1 and the final would be played on July 10.
The tournament, featuring eight teams, will be played on a league basis with the top two fighting it out for the trophy, TNCA officials told reporters here on Thursday.
- 8 teams – Green Invaders, Silver Strikers, Pink Warriors, Blue Avengers, Yellow Challengers, Red Rangers, Orange Dragons &Purple Blazers to vie for coveted Freyer Cup
- The tournaments provided further opportunities for budding young women cricketers and a stage to show cause their talent: Sudha Shah
- Out of the total number of 600 girls turned up for the scouting camps, 120 were selected through the recently held Talent Scout for Women cricketers in all the 37 districts in the state
- The tournament is set to go live and will be covered by Fancode and can be viewed on Fancode Mobile App

Freyer International, a leading logistics company is sponsoring the Women’s cricket tournament third year in a row.
Out of the total number of 600 girls turned up for the scouting camps, 120 were selected through the recently held Talent Scout for Women cricketers in all the 37 districts in the state. Out of these 68 are from rural areas, said RI Palani, Honorary Secretary of TNCA.
As the response received from the talent scout camps, the number of teams for the Freyer cup has been increased to 8 this year as against 6 teams played last year, said Sudha Shah, Member, Cricket Advisory Committee of TNCA.
This year TNCA formed a Talent Scout Wing, which includes eminent former first-class cricketers and coaches, both men and women, to unearth inherent talent, especially in the rural districts among women. The response was tremendous, she added.
She further said, “The tournaments provided further opportunities for budding young women cricketers and a stage to show cause their talent.’’
The 8 teams are: Green Invaders, Silver Strikers, Pink Warriors, Blue Avengers, Yellow Challengers, Red Rangers, Orange Dragons & Purple Blazers.
Both T20 and One day matches will be held at Stag Ground and JS Academy Pbel ground.
The tournament is set to go live and will be covered by Fancode and can be viewed on Fancode Mobile App.
Salient features of the tournament are

- BCCI Women’s T20 and One Day Playing Conditions to be followed.
- T-Shirts are provided to all participants.
- The matches can be viewed live on Fancode.
- The tournaments would provide a base for selection of Women’s Senior, Under 23, Under 19 and Under 15 teams.
Rolling Trophies and Certificates for Winners and Runners, and the following Special Awards for both the tournaments for Best Batter, Best Bowler, Best All-rounder, Most Number of Victims, Promising Cricketer and Player of the Tournament.
T J Srinivasraj, Honorary Treasurer TNCA, & Chairman and CEO Freyer International, J Rajan, Director Finance Freyer International spoke. K Shivakumar, Honorary Joint Secretary TNCA welcomed the gathering. Sudha Shah, Member, Cricket Advisory Committee of TNCA proposed vote of thanks.
TNCA office-bearers, women coaches and players were also present at the conference.
