AHMEDABAD,  JUNE 23

Nova IVF Fertility, the second largest fertility chain in India, on Friday said it has further strengthened its position in the state of Gujarat with the acquisition of Wings IVF, an Ahmedabad-based fertility centre with six centres across Gujarat. The deal, valued at ₹125-₹140 crore, marks Nova IVF Fertility’s expansion to 68 centres in 44 cities nationwide.

Wings IVF was founded by Dr Jayesh Amin, amongst the most respected IVF specialists in the country.

Under the ownership of TPG Growth, through its healthcare platform Asia Healthcare Holdings (AHH), and with investment support from Singapore’s GIC, Nova IVF Fertility continues to cement its presence in the Indian fertility market.

Wings IVF, established in 2014, has established itself as a prominent fertility centre, catering to patients not only in Gujarat but also in Rajasthan, Bihar, and Delhi. The organization specializes in providing treatments for couples with recurrent implantation failures and has successfully achieved 20,000 live births through IVF pregnancies.

Ahmedabad based firm Vector legal acted as legal advisors to Wings IVF, with a team led by partner Anshuman Mohapatra. “The expertise of Dr  Jayesh Amin in the field of IVF and the reach of Nova in the country would add significant value to the business,” said Anshuman Mohapatra commenting on the deal.

Commenting on the acquisition, Shobhit Agarwal, CEO of Nova IVF Fertility, stated, “Both the organizations have an inherent DNA for enabling couples to achieve pregnancies through the self-cycle technique. With the launch of the ART Act, this focus has only increased, and today, 90% of our IVF cycles are through self-cycles.”

Dr Jayesh Amin, founder of Wings IVF, expressed his thoughts on the partnership, saying, “One in every six Indian couples struggles with infertility. With this partnership, we aim to bring in advanced newer technologies like Regenerative therapy, which can help couples reduce their dependence on donor eggs.”

With over 55,000 pregnancies achieved across 110,000 couples, performing close to 15,000 cycles each year, Nova IVF Fertility has solidified its position as a leader in the field. The company has added 43 centres in the last three years, illustrating its commitment to expanding access to advanced fertility treatments across India.

The IVF services market in India was valued at $750 million in 2020 and is expected to reach $3.7 billion by 2030, indicating significant growth potential. The industry is witnessing consolidation as various private equity funds actively pursue acquisitions. Notably, BPEA EQT, Blackstone, Bain Capital, Advent International, and TPG Capital have submitted non-binding bids to acquire a majority stake in Indira IVF, India’s largest fertility clinic chain.
