In cricket crazy India, the sports of the gentlemen and the tinsel world are intertwined and controlled by politicians of all hues, big corporates and cine stars as it is a billion dollar biz. Directing a film on this sports needs a thorough homework. This has been done by Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter Aishwarya Rajinikanth under his tutelage.

‘Lal Salaam’s’ trailer was unveiled by its makers on Monday. This film features the Superstar Rajinikanth in an extended cameo.

Last year, a picture of Rajinikanth and Kapil Dev also surfaced online from the sets and in his post, the actor said that it is his ‘privilege’ to be working with the legendary cricketer.
Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth play the lead roles.
The film is slated to hit the big screens on February 9, 2024. The upcoming sports drama was earlier scheduled to release in cinemas on the occasion of Pongal.
Lyca Productions Subaskaran presents, with music by AR Rahman, and head of Lyca Productions GKM Tamil Kumaran hosted a press conference on Monday. The cast and crew of the film attended the event and shared their experience on working in film.

When Thambi Ramaiah spoke, he said, “There may be three religions in Tamil Nadu- Hindu, Muslim and Christianity, but human minds are united. Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth has created an excellent screenplay for the story of Vishnu Rangasamy focusing on cricket. The film has been made with emotional scenes for the fans who will come and enjoy it with their families. I thank Aishwarya Rajinikanth for giving me the opportunity to act in the film.”
Speaking at the event, Actor Senthil said, “Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth has created a wonderful story and it was very emotional experience working in the film. I sincerely thank my co-stars for their cooperation in the film.”
Actor Vivek Prasanna said, “The point of the film is that there should be no problem for those who are looking for any problem in the film. After watching it, the criticism you will give as press and media friends will be deep and pressing. My sincere thanks to director Aishwarya Rajinikanth and the producer Subaskaran for giving me the opportunity to act in this film.”

Yesteryear actress Nirosha said, “I had gotten an opportunity to work with Rajinikanth Sir earlier, but it did not happen at the last moment. But today, in ‘Lal Salaam,’ sharing the screen with him, my career has become complete through this film.”
Actor Thangadurai said, “It is a great honor to act with ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth for the first time and this film gave me the experience of entering a film university and working with so many artists.”
Actor Vikranth who’s known for his underrated performances said that this opportunity came when he felt that his film career was over and he was happy that he still had a film career and it was a gift from God. He also said that he is thankful to Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth for giving him this opportunity and was very happy to act in this film alongside ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth who gave a lot of advice and good encouragement regarding acting.
Actor Vishnu Vishal said “This film is a gift to me on completing 15 years in the film industry and I’m very happy to play the hero of a story under ‘Superstar’ Rajinikanth in his film when many people are longing to act with him.” He also said that the film will record the necessary opinion through cricket. Filming this concept as a director and having a huge personality like Superstar Rajinikanth in the film is very challenging and that Aishwarya Rajinikanth has done it effectively. He also said that he would like to thank all the artists, press and media friends who worked with him.
Satya N.J. – Costume Designer, said: “Since the screenplay is set in the 90s, it was a challenging task for him to design the costumes accordingly.”
Finally, when the captain of the ship, Director Aishwarya Rajinikanth spoke, she said that the film’s screenplay was based on the problems that occur in the cricket match that takes place in a town. This film talks about where sports can go. The cinematographer and story writer of the film Vishnu Rangasamy told her two stories and one of them was ‘Lal Salaam.’ She said that this film puts light on a small political opinion related to the people. “Everyone who can be a citizen has a role to play with politics and without politics no country or democracy can function. Politics is in everything and it’s all in how we see it”, she said.
