As part of 47th Raising Day of ICG, the Indian Coast Guard Headquarters on Wednesday announced the unit commendation for entire Coast Guard. Amongst the announced commendations, two units of Regional Headquarters (North West) viz. The Indian Coast Guard Ship (ICGS) Arinjay and Hovercraft Maintenance Unit (HMU) Okha have been adjudged best in respective categories.

“ICGS Arinjay (Fast Patrol Vessel) based at Okha was involved in various operations, most recent being apprehension of 40 Kgs of narcotics worth Rs 300 crores and arms and ammunitions detected for first time during recent seizures. The Ship had daringly challenged the suspicious Pak boat and also apprehended 10 crew in challenging sea conditions,” the release said.
Hovercraft Maintenance Unit (HMU) has been awarded most innovative ICG afloat support unit for active support and effective maintenance to ICG Hovercraft fleet of the Region during operational cycle, the statement added..
