Actress and National Commission for Women (NCW) member Khushbu Sundar Thursday said a through probe is necessary on the alleged video shooting of a girl in the washroom of a paramedical college in Udupi, before jumping to conclusions or giving it a communal angle.

“We are looking at the evidence and waiting for the FSL team to give the report. Most importantly, retrieve the video based on which the case has been registered,” Sundar said.
Meanwhile, the women wing of the BJP held a protest at Freedom Park against the government. Demanding a CBI probe into the matter, they accused the state government of not taking the matter seriously.
BJP MLC Chaluvadi Narayanaswamy levelled allegations of community appeasement against the government while demanding justice for the victims.
“The government is not taking action because they want to appease one community. This is being done for the sake of votes. We request the government to take action against them,” he said.
Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara on Wednesday had dubbed the filming of a girl student in the restroom by fellow female students in a Udupi college as “a small incident blown out of proportion”.
According to him, it has happened in the past but “no one did politics then” but now the BJP has indulged in “petty politics”.
“That is a small incident. Reports say it happened amongst friends. Should it be blown out of proportion and given a political colour,” Parameshwara asked while speaking to reporters.
An FIR has been registered against three girl students of a paramedical college in Udupi over the alleged recording of a video of their fellow student in the college washroom recently, police sources said.
The FIR has been filed at Malpe police station in Udupi. Three students, Shabhnaz, Alfiya and Aleema, have been named in the FIR.
The college administration has also been named in the FIR, which has been filed under sections 509, 204, 175, 34 and 66 (e) of the IT Act, sources said.
