Charotar University of Science and Technology (CHARUSAT), designated as a “Center of Excellence” by the Government of Gujarat, on Wednesday announced that US-based Technopreneur and Industrialist Ashok Patel will be the chief guest of its 12th Convocation to be held on Friday.
Surendrabhai Patel, President, CHARUSAT will preside over the convocation ceremony.
“Ashok Patel, the chief guest, serving as the president of Wood, Patel and Associates Inc USA and Vice Chair, Board of Trustees of Indo-American Cultural and Religious Foundations of Arizona. Wood, Patel and Associates Inc is renowned for the use of creative solutions that lead to significant cost savings with increased benefits to the clients. It was also ranked as No 1 Civil Engineering Firm in Ranking Arizona: the Best of Arizona Business. Ashok Patel is wellknown throughout the State of Arizona for his drainage engineering expertise. During his professional career of 40 years, he has served in various roles such as the Associate president at PRC Corporation, USA and the senior vice president of Coe and Van Loo Consultants, USA. He is also having professional associations with various prestigious international associations, including American Society of Civil Engineers,” says a CHARUSAT release.
CHARUSAT has established a legacy and tradition of inviting great technopreneurs, industrialists, and respected celebrities who are known for their contribution to the nation and society to address its students, the statement added.
A total of 2,564 students, including 994 female students, will be conferred degrees.
45 gold medals will be awarded to 40 brilliant students who have secured top position in various disciplines, including 23 female students. While a total of 27 brilliant students, including 13 female students and 14 male students, will be awarded PhD.
296 students of Faculty of Medical Sciences, 425 students of Faculty of Computer Applications, 214 students of Faculty of Management Studies, 156 students of Faculty of Pharmacy, 314 students of Faculty of Applied Sciences and 1159 students of six different branches of Faculty of Technology and Engineering. In which Diploma 42, Post Graduate 568, Undergraduate 1,927, and PHD 27 students will be conferred degrees and blessed for a bright future.
Pure Gold Medals are hallmark of CHARUSAT
Unlike other universities where it is more common to award gold-plated medals, CHARUSAT will award genuine gold medals that come with certificates. All 45 Pure gold medals – each weighing 14 carats and 15 grams will be awarded at the convocation ceremony.
