Precision, Power and Combat Spirit
The evening opened with an electrifying demonstration of Physical Training skills, underscoring the Academy’s relentless focus on strength, endurance and discipline—qualities essential for future battlefield leaders.
This was followed by an intense display of the Army Martial Art Regime (AMAR), the Indian Army’s specialised unarmed combat system. The cadets executed lightning-fast defensive and offensive manoeuvres, illustrating their preparedness to handle close-quarter combat scenarios.
A stunning Equestrian Display by Officer Cadets and Riding Instructors added a touch of regal tradition to the programme. The riders performed synchronised formations and daring manoeuvres, displaying extraordinary coordination between horse and rider while drawing enthusiastic applause from spectators.
Ancient Art Meets Modern Military
Adding cultural depth to the martial spectacle was an enthralling demonstration of Kalaripayattu, the ancient martial art form originating from Kerala’s Malabar region. Blending rhythmic movements, martial music and extraordinary agility, the performance highlighted India’s rich combat heritage while showcasing the cadets’ physical dexterity.
The grand finale featured a dramatic Bunker Bursting Drill, where cadets simulated assault operations on fortified enemy positions. The high-impact demonstration reflected their tactical preparedness and the fierce fighting spirit expected of officers leading troops in combat situations.
Saluting Excellence
Commandant Michael AJ Fernandez felicitated the participants and praised the cadets for their remarkable display of courage, discipline and skill.
“The exemplary skill sets and unwavering commitment demonstrated during this scintillating event reflect the high standards of training and leadership that define the Officers Training Academy,” he said.
As anticipation builds for the Passing Out Parade, the spectacular display served as a powerful reminder that the cadets of OTA Chennai are ready to shoulder the responsibilities of leadership and national defence.
