IMTEX Forming 2026, Asia’s largest exhibition on metal forming and manufacturing technologies, is poised to return with unprecedented scale and global participation as the Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) gears up to host the mega edition from January 21–25, 2026 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
The show will feature over 600 exhibitors from 20 countries, spread across four exhibition halls and covering 46,000 sq. metres of display space—bringing the world’s most advanced forming technologies under one roof.
Multiple Concurrent Shows
The exhibition will host several focused technology events, including:
- Tooltech: Accessories, metrology, CAD/CAM, tool systems and innovations in tooling
- Digital Manufacturing: Real-time Industry 4.0 and additive manufacturing solutions
- Weldexpo (with IIW–India): Cutting-edge welding technologies
- Moldex India & Fastenex India (by Messe Stuttgart): Moulding, fasteners and fixing systems
Parallel Knowledge Platforms
IMTEX Forming 2026 will also integrate key knowledge and talent-development programs:
- International Seminar on Forming Technology (22–23 Jan 2026) – the 9th edition focusing on next-gen forming processes and technologies
- i2 Academia Square – a showcase of R&D innovations from top institutions
- Jagruti–IMTMA Youth Programme – designed to familiarise young engineers with the latest in manufacturing innovation
With confirmed participation from Germany, Italy, Japan and Taiwan, the expo is expected to attract thousands of visitors from automotive, aerospace, defence, medical devices, power, railways, construction equipment, general and heavy engineering, electrical, electronics and consumer goods sectors.
Industry Leaders Speak
“Although metal forming currently accounts for 29% of the Indian machine tool market, the segment is expected to grow measurably in the coming years. In FY25, the consumption of metal forming machine tools was ₹9,139 crores, while production was valued at ₹2,696 crores. Overall, metal forming machine tool exports increased by approximately 6% year-on-year. Among the exports, presses led the list, followed by press brakes, bending machines, and shearing machines,” said Mohini Kelkar, President, IMTMA.
Adding insight on emerging trends, Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO, IMTMA, said: “Laser and laser-based applications are finding increasing acceptance across industry sectors and we have seen a steady increase in participation by laser-based manufacturers at IMTEX Forming. Exhibitors will display fibre laser machines, precision levellers, pick-and-place units, servo presses, machine production monitoring systems, welding and 3D printing solutions. IMTEX Forming 2026 will accelerate the manufacturing of homegrown products and their exports.”
The five-day exhibition is expected to serve as a powerful catalyst in enabling Indian manufacturers to adopt high-productivity, digital and sustainable forming technologies.
