CEPT University has announced the opening of admissions for its Spring 2026 intake of the Master’s in Architecture (Housing Design) programme, offered by the Faculty of Architecture. The application window, open from November 15 to December 10, 2025, provides candidates a valuable mid-cycle entry opportunity—ideal for those who missed the regular admission season but aspire to join one of India’s most respected housing design programmes.
The two-year M.Arch (Housing Design) programme integrates rigorous design studios with context-rich coursework on housing regulations, affordability, typologies, climate-sensitive design and on-ground case studies. It remains the only programme in India that enables students to personalise their academic journey by choosing both studios and elective courses to match their professional ambitions. This unique flexibility closely aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasises learner-centric, multidisciplinary education.
Students benefit from vertical studios exploring themes such as flexibility, parametricism and affordability; elective opportunities through CEPT’s Winter and Summer Schools; and collaborations with leading international institutions including the National University of Singapore and TU Delft. Sessions with acclaimed architects such as Ar. Biju Kuriakose, Ar. Chitra Vishwanath and Ar. Yatin Pandya add global perspective and practical industry insights, preparing graduates for future-ready roles in India’s fast-evolving housing sector.
India’s expanding housing market—shaped by rapid urbanisation, policy reforms, technology shifts and climate pressures—demands architects with specialised training in housing design. CEPT’s programme is crafted for this critical moment, equipping students to design socially responsive, sustainable and innovative housing solutions for the cities of tomorrow.
Professor Viswanath Kashikar, Programme Chair, M.Arch (Housing Design), said, “There is a dearth of practitioners, researchers and academicians in the field of housing design. This programme offers a rare opportunity for students to chart their own futures and make meaningful contributions to India’s housing landscape.”
