From the bustling polling stations of Kerala to the vibrant booths in Assam and Puducherry, the visiting observers were struck by India’s ability to conduct elections involving millions with clockwork precision.
A festival of democracy, a masterclass in execution
Describing the experience as transformative, international delegates lauded the scale and enthusiasm of Indian voters.
“Indian Voting, this is a true festival of democracy for the whole world what is overwhelming for me is enthusiasm of people to vote. We can only learn from this process, it’s a huge process and done right,” said Branimir Farkas.
Logistics at scale: Where precision meets planning
Delegates began their visit by observing dispatch and distribution centres, where polling teams and materials were mobilised with military-like precision under well-defined SOPs. The seamless coordination of manpower, machines, and materials offered a glimpse into the backbone of India’s electoral success.
They also engaged with Chief Electoral Officers and security officials, gaining insights into layered security arrangements and operational planning.

A key highlight was the extensive use of technology—from Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) to 100% webcasting of polling stations monitored through CCTV control rooms.
Delegates described these mechanisms as a “strong pillar of transparency.”
“One of the great things about India is use of EVMs…some of the things that we have learnt we will be able to take home and see how we could implement it, it’s like a festival, this should be the spirit,” said Abubakarr Mahmoud Koroma.
Inclusivity in action: Democracy for all
From ramps and wheelchairs to crèche facilities and dedicated polling stations run by women and persons with disabilities (PwDs), India’s elections showcased inclusivity at its finest.
“Inclusivity of highest order,” remarked Fahima Araphat Abdallah.
“We are very impressed with how the polling stations have been organized, the facilities have been prepared very well, wheelchair, creche facilities,” added Paulus Shigwedha.
Innovation meets participation on ground
From drone-based monitoring and flying squads in Puducherry to Gen Z-themed polling booths in Kerala and health check-up facilities in Assam’s rural belts, India’s elections blended innovation with accessibility.
Delegates also visited media monitoring centres and participated in eco-friendly initiatives such as plantation drives, reflecting a holistic and sustainable approach to election management.
A global learning hub for electoral excellence
Summing up their experience, delegates acknowledged India as a global leader in election management.
“The process of election in India is certainly a place to learn,” said Uuc-Kib Espadas Ancona.
As the Election Commission of India continues to refine its systems, the world is increasingly looking at India not just as the largest democracy—but as the most technically adept and operationally resilient one.
Indeed, while the world watches to learn, India continues to raise the bar—proving that conducting elections at a billion-scale is not just possible, but can be executed with unmatched precision, inclusivity, and integrity.
