AHMEDABAD, MAR 25
In a decisive push to make long-distance electric vehicle (EV) travel faster and stress-free, Tata Power has operationalised a 180 kW ultra-fast EV charging station on the busy Mumbai–Ahmedabad highway (NH-48)—a move set to redefine intercity mobility in India.
Installed at Vithal Kamat Restaurant, Manor, the high-capacity charger dramatically cuts charging time to just 15–30 minutes for a 20% to 80% charge, enabling quicker turnarounds for both private and commercial EV users.
Fast, Reliable, Highway-Ready
The newly launched charger—part of Tata Power’s expanding EZ Charge network—supports CCS2 standards, ensuring compatibility across a wide range of electric vehicles.
“This high-speed charging solution is designed to make long-distance EV travel seamless, efficient, and reliable,” the company said.
Capable of servicing 25–30 vehicles daily, the station is strategically positioned along one of India’s busiest transport corridors, enhancing connectivity between two major economic hubs.
More Than Charging: A Travel Experience Upgrade
Beyond speed, the facility offers a holistic highway experience:
- Clean restrooms
- Quality dining options
- आराम zones for travellers
While vehicles recharge, drivers and passengers can relax—turning downtime into comfort time.
“The station blends mobility with convenience, improving the overall highway travel experience for EV users.”
Tackling Range Anxiety Head-On
One of the biggest barriers to EV adoption—range anxiety—gets a direct solution with such ultra-fast, reliable highway infrastructure.
“By enabling faster charging and dependable access along highways, we are building confidence in intercity EV travel,” the company added.
