In an era where authentic conversations are emerging as the most powerful classrooms, GLS University transformed its campus into a hub of inspiration by hosting acclaimed podcaster and storyteller Jay Thadeshwar for an engaging edition of “Decoded with Chandni Kapadia.” The thought-provoking session encouraged students to look beyond conventional career paths and discover how curiosity, communication, entrepreneurship and purpose can together shape extraordinary journeys in an increasingly interconnected world.
Hosted by Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director, GLS University, the interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and aspiring entrepreneurs, who gained valuable insights into storytelling, innovation, leadership and personal growth.
Moving beyond professional achievements, the conversation explored Jay Thadeshwar’s inspiring journey, the experiences that shaped his worldview and the philosophy that continues to guide his work. Throughout the interaction, authenticity, resilience, curiosity and the courage to discover one’s unique voice emerged as recurring themes.
Sharing his evolution from helping brands understand consumers and build identities to creating meaningful conversations through his own podcast platform, Jay Thadeshwar highlighted the transformative power of storytelling.
He explained how genuine narratives possess the ability to influence people, inspire communities and leave a lasting social impact far beyond the digital world.
One of the most engaging segments of the session centred on his conscious decision to build his podcast around the Gujarati language, demonstrating that content deeply rooted in culture and identity can achieve remarkable resonance in today’s global digital ecosystem.
He observed that regional languages are no longer confined to local audiences but are becoming influential vehicles for impactful storytelling and meaningful engagement.
The discussion also delved into the delicate balance between entrepreneurship, ambition, spirituality and personal values.
Jay Thadeshwar emphasised that professional success becomes truly meaningful only when accompanied by clarity of vision, purpose and ethical foundations.
Interacting with students, he candidly discussed the challenges confronting today’s youth, including the pressures created by social media, constant comparisons and the relentless pursuit of success.
He encouraged students to focus instead on continuous learning, self-development and making meaningful contributions to society.
Drawing upon his rich experience of interviewing entrepreneurs, industrialists, actors and public personalities, Jay Thadeshwar explained the importance of asking thoughtful questions and building conversations that go far beyond superficial exchanges.
Recalling his memorable experience of representing the voice of Young India at the British Parliament’s House of Commons, he underscored the importance of communication, confidence and intellectual curiosity in making an impact on global platforms.
Reflecting on his remarkable journey from a small-town upbringing in Gujarat to addressing international audiences, he told students that geography should never become a limitation for ambition.
According to him, anyone who remains curious about life, keeps learning, broadens perspectives and develops the courage to express ideas confidently can represent themselves and their country on some of the world’s most prestigious stages.
Sharing one of the most inspiring moments of the conversation, Jay Thadeshwar remarked: “Sometimes life does not take you directly towards your dream; it takes you through experiences that prepare you for it. What may look like a missed opportunity at one point can become the foundation for something much bigger in the future.”
The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction during which students sought his perspectives on leadership, entrepreneurship, creativity, communication and building purpose-driven careers.
Speaking on the occasion, Chandni Kapadia, Executive Director, GLS University, emphasised the University’s commitment to creating transformative learning experiences beyond conventional classrooms.
“Platforms like ‘Decoded with Chandni Kapadia’ enable students to interact with inspiring personalities, gain practical insights and develop confidence while appreciating diverse perspectives. Such meaningful conversations encourage young minds to think innovatively and prepare themselves for the opportunities and challenges of the future,” she said.
