North Gujarat has emerged as a national frontrunner in financial inclusion, with the India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) ecosystem delivering a standout performance in the ‘General Insurance Super Dhurandhar’ campaign, earning recognition among the top-performing regions in the country.
Led by Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav, the region not only surpassed its targets but also strengthened its grassroots banking footprint, reinforcing the vision of “Aapka bank, aapke dwaar.”
National Recognition Backed by Numbers
The North Gujarat Region achieved a premium collection of ₹1,53,75,607 against a target of ₹1,50,85,834, clocking an impressive 101.92% achievement during the campaign period (January–March 2026).
Out of 63 postal regions nationwide, only 15 qualified, with North Gujarat securing a place among the top performers.
Abhijeet Jibhakate, Chief Manager, IPPB, said: “PAN India out of 63 Postal regions, only 15 regions were successful in this campaign, and North Gujarat Region is among them.”
Financial Inclusion Gains Scale
The region now boasts over 8.43 lakh operational IPPB accounts, with 1.43 lakh new accounts added in FY 2025-26 alone, highlighting rapid adoption.
More than one lakh citizens availed general insurance during the financial year, including 23,500 beneficiaries under the ‘Super Dhurandhar’ campaign.
Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav stated: “North Gujarat Region has achieved a milestone of over 8.43 lakh IPPB accounts, strengthening doorstep banking.”
‘Bank at Your Doorstep’ Becomes Reality
Highlighting IPPB’s transformative role, Yadav said: “Through India Post Payments Bank, postmen and Gramin Dak Sevaks are now functioning as ATM cum mobile banks.”
He added that services such as Aadhaar enrolment for children, mobile updates, Digital Life Certificates, DBT, bill payments, AEPS transactions, and multiple insurance schemes are now delivered at the customer’s doorstep.
Gujarati Insight — Policy, Teamwork & Strategy Pay Off
Translating his remarks from Gujarati, Krishna Kumar Yadav emphasised: “This achievement is the result of the hard work, dedication, teamwork, and effective strategy of all employees. Special focus was placed on expanding insurance access, increasing public awareness, and improving service quality.”
He further noted: “IPPB has played a crucial role in accelerating financial inclusion and the Digital India mission by delivering banking services to every corner, especially rural India.”
Divisions Deliver Beyond Targets
Ritul Gandhi, Assistant Director, highlighted: “Out of the six divisions under North Gujarat Region, five divisions—Ahmedabad City, Banaskantha, Mahesana, Patan, and Sabarkantha—achieved 100% of their targets and successfully qualified in the campaign.”
These divisions exceeded benchmarks, significantly contributing to the region’s overall success.
‘Postal Warrior’ Initiative Fuels Winning Momentum
Crediting innovation in execution, Abhijeet Jibhakate added: “The remarkable achievement was significantly supported by the ‘Postal Warrior’ initiative introduced by Postmaster General Krishna Kumar Yadav, which proved to be highly effective and inspirational.”
“Through this initiative, a strong sense of competition, teamwork, and commitment towards targets was fostered among postal employees.”
