The expansion comes on the heels of several strategic initiatives by the company, including its ‘Kill the Petrol Bill’ campaign, collaboration with Bolt.Earth to expand India’s Type-6 charging infrastructure and the introduction of its innovative Battery Flex (BaaS) programme, all aimed at accelerating mass adoption of electric mobility.
The new UV Space Station showcases Ultraviolette’s flagship performance motorcycles, the F77 and X-47 Crossover, engineered to redefine expectations from electric two-wheelers.
Powered by a high-performance electric drivetrain producing 40.2 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque, the motorcycles sprint from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.8 seconds while offering an IDC-certified range of 323 kilometres from a 10.3 kWh battery pack, combining exhilarating performance with long-distance practicality.
Addressing the launch, Niraj Rajmohan, CTO and Co-founder of Ultraviolette, highlighted Chennai’s strategic importance in India’s automotive evolution.
“Chennai has long been recognized as one of India’s most important automotive hubs, with a strong legacy of engineering, manufacturing, and innovation, and is a strategically important market in India’s evolving mobility landscape. The launch of our new experience centre strengthens our ability to bring Ultraviolette’s technology, innovation, and engineering-led products closer to a growing community of riders and enthusiasts in the region. As we continue to advance our capabilities across battery technology, vehicle intelligence, radar-enabled safety systems and software-defined architectures, our focus remains on building globally competitive mobility solutions that are designed, engineered and built in India for the world.”
Interacting with journalists, Rajmohan said the company has already achieved nearly 70 per cent localisation in line with the Government’s Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives and expressed confidence of reaching 100 per cent localisation of components in the coming years.
He also revealed that Ultraviolette has invested more than ₹700 crore in research and development since 2016, supported by a distinguished group of global investors including Lingotto, TDK Ventures, Qualcomm Ventures, Zoho Corporation, TVS Motor and Speciale Invest.
Further enhancing affordability for prospective buyers, the company recently launched its ‘Kill the Petrol Bill’ programme, allowing customers upgrading to the F77 or X-47 to receive cashback linked to the kilometres covered on their previous petrol-powered two-wheelers over the last two years.
Under the initiative, eligible customers can avail benefits of up to ₹30,000, effectively converting their past fuel expenses into savings on a new electric motorcycle and reinforcing one of EV ownership’s biggest advantages—freedom from recurring fuel costs without compromising on performance, technology or riding experience.
With its expanding retail footprint, growing charging ecosystem, technology-driven product portfolio and deep investment in innovation, Ultraviolette is steadily positioning itself at the forefront of India’s premium electric motorcycle revolution while transforming Chennai into one of its key growth markets.
