In a major push to bridge India’s opportunity divide and nurture hidden talent from underserved communities, Godrej Foundation has launched ‘Tomorrow Makers’, a nationwide educational and talent acceleration platform designed to identify and support high-potential students across science, innovation, arts and defence.
The initiative seeks to unlock the aspirations of thousands of young Indians from disadvantaged backgrounds by connecting them with mentors, educators, scholarships, competitions and specialised learning ecosystems capable of transforming their futures.
Built on the belief that talent exists in every corner of India but opportunities do not, the programme is expected to become one of the country’s most ambitious CSR-led talent development missions.

Empowering India’s Untapped Young Minds
The Tomorrow Makers platform has been designed to support students from Classes 6 to 12 as well as graduates by providing structured pathways for growth in four major areas:
- STEM
- Invention and Making
- Arts
- Defence
Through collaborations with eight specialised partner organisations, the programme aims to provide advanced learning opportunities that are often inaccessible to students from low-income or rural backgrounds.
The initiative reflects a growing recognition that India’s future growth depends not only on economic expansion but also on identifying and nurturing talent beyond urban and privileged ecosystems.
‘Talent Is Widely Distributed, Opportunity Is Not’
Speaking on the launch, Omar Momin, Chief Executive Officer, Godrej Foundation said:
“India is home to one of the world’s largest school-going populations, yet access to structured mentorship, advanced learning opportunities, and talent acceleration ecosystems remains uneven, particularly for students from underserved communities. Through Tomorrow Makers, we aim to help bridge this gap by building pathways that identify and nurture high-potential young people from across regions and socio-economic backgrounds. Through this platform, we hope to build a pipeline of future innovators, researchers, artists, entrepreneurs, soldiers, and public leaders whose success can create multiplier effects by transforming families, strengthening communities, and contributing to India’s long-term leadership and progress.”
From IIT Coaching to Theatre and Defence Training
The programme brings together some of India’s leading educational and mentorship organisations.
Among the key partners:
- Dakshana Foundation and Avanti Fellows will provide free JEE and NEET coaching
- Genwise and MakerGhat will offer advanced training in robotics, mathematics and computing
- Slam Out Loud and Drama School Mumbai will mentor students in arts and theatre
- Delta Squad Foundation and Yuvatejas will train graduates aspiring to join the armed forces
Need-based scholarships will also be offered to eligible students.
Leadership Training Through Nation-Building
Commenting on the initiative, Esan, Founder, Delta Squad Foundation, said:
“Serving the nation begins long before one dons the uniform. At Delta Squad Foundation, we believe leadership is built through discipline, resilience, service, and real responsibility. Today, Delta Squad stands as India’s only disaster rescue squad raised by young serving Armed Forces officers. Over the years, we have mentored youth aspiring to join the Armed Forces while exposing them to real-world leadership through rescue and relief missions. Through Tomorrow Makers, we hope to make this model of leadership training and nation-building accessible to deserving young Indians from every background.”
Accessible Registration Through WhatsApp and Online Assessments
Students across India can apply through the programme website or via WhatsApp-based registration.
Applicants will undergo online assessments designed to identify aptitude and potential across sciences, innovation, arts and endurance-based disciplines.
For younger students in Classes 6 and 7, assessments are available in 11 Indian languages including Tamil, Hindi, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati and Malayalam — making the programme more inclusive and accessible.
Officials said nearly 80% of the selected cohort each year is expected to come from economically weaker backgrounds.
As India seeks to harness its demographic dividend, initiatives like Tomorrow Makers could play a crucial role in ensuring that brilliance from small towns and underserved communities receives the opportunity, mentorship and ecosystem needed to shine on the national stage.
