GANDHINAGAR, JUNE 12

This Sunday, thousands of cyclists are expected to transform roads into corridors of fitness, education and social change as the Sports Authority of India (SAI), Regional Centre Gandhinagar, organises a special Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA)-themed edition of ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’ across multiple cities in Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Scheduled for June 14, 2026, the initiative is more than just a cycling event—it is a nationwide call to pedal towards healthier lifestyles, stronger communities and a more empowered rural India.

The movement will roll out simultaneously in Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Vadodara, Jaipur, Bikaner and several other locations, bringing together students, teachers, cyclists, sportspersons, volunteers and families under one common mission of nation-building through fitness.

In Vadodara, the cycling programme will be held at Fortune Palladium, Manjalpur, while Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar will host the event at the Sports Authority of India’s National Centres of Excellence (NCOEs) in collaboration with educational institutions and partner organisations.

The special edition celebrates Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, the flagship initiative of the Ministry of Education aimed at strengthening the partnership between higher educational institutions and rural communities through education, innovation, sustainable development and community engagement.

Participants will cycle together to spread the message that a healthy body and an educated society are the twin engines of national progress.

The organisers believe that every turn of the pedal symbolises a commitment to fitness, environmental consciousness, social responsibility and inclusive development.

By integrating the objectives of the Fit India Movement with the transformative vision of Unnat Bharat Abhiyan, the initiative seeks to inspire young citizens to actively contribute towards building a healthier, stronger and more self-reliant India.

The event is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from educational institutions, cycling clubs, youth organisations, community groups and fitness enthusiasts, creating a vibrant celebration of collective action and public participation.

Citizens from all walks of life are encouraged to join the movement, ride with purpose and become ambassadors of fitness, education, rural empowerment and community development.

Every kilometre pedalled on Sunday will represent a step towards the shared vision of Fit India and Viksit Bharat, proving that meaningful national transformation often begins with simple individual action.
