For devotees, the remembrance of a saint is not merely a ritual—it is an invitation to turn faith into service. The Mahasamadhi Day of renowned Uttarakhand saint Neem Karoli Baba, revered by devotees as an incarnation of Lord Hanuman, was celebrated with deep devotion and grandeur on Friday at the Shri Sankatmochan Hanuman Neem Karoli Baba Temple in Rancharda.
According to temple founder Dr. Pravin Garg, floral tributes were offered to Baba at 8 am, followed by 11 recitations of the Hanuman Chalisa at 8.30 pm. A Bhandara (community feast) was also organised at the temple throughout the day, with a large number of devotees receiving prasad.
The temple is described as the fourth divine temple in India where Lord Hanuman is seated in a resting posture. It also regularly organises Sundarkand recitation every Sunday at 5.30 pm, providing devotees an opportunity for collective prayer and spiritual reflection.
At the heart of the temple’s activities is the enduring teaching of Neem Karoli Baba — “Love All, Serve All, Feed All.” Giving this philosophy a practical expression, the temple is actively involved in various charitable and service initiatives.

Through three Ram Roti Seva Rath vehicles, food prasad is regularly distributed to approximately 500 needy people. Several other charitable and social service activities are also undertaken as part of the temple’s commitment to seva.
The Mahasamadhi Day celebrations also brought young minds into the spiritual fold. Around 100 schoolchildren visited the temple, sought the blessings of Neem Karoli Baba and Lord Hanuman, and participated in the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa. The children joined the prayers with devotion and received Baba’s blessings.
With the blessings of Neem Karoli Baba, the temple is gradually emerging as a centre of faith, devotion and spiritual belief, while seeking to make the saint’s message relevant through prayer, community service and compassion.
