In a significant step towards strengthening youth-centric cooperation, a high-level delegation from Mauritius visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Group Headquarters in Vadodara to study its structure and explore the possibility of establishing a similar framework back home.

The delegation, led by Dhanita Ramdharee, included advisor Darmalingum Mootien and Deputy Commissioner of Police Rajcoomar Seebah. The visit reflects the enduring bilateral ties between India and Mauritius, with a shared emphasis on youth empowerment and nation-building.
Officials at the Vadodara headquarters received the delegation and provided a comprehensive overview of NCC’s functioning. “The focus was on leadership, discipline and nation building,” an official brief noted, underscoring the pillars that define the NCC framework.
The delegation later visited the Gujarat NCC Leadership Academy in Rajpipla, where they witnessed training modules and cadet development programmes firsthand. The exposure offered insights into how structured training can shape responsible, capable citizens.

Describing the visit as forward-looking, officials highlighted its broader significance. “The visit reaffirms the shared commitment of both the nations towards empowering the youth as partners in progress & enable them to be responsible & contributing citizen of respective nations,” the official statement said.
The engagement is expected to pave the way for closer collaboration, enhancing people-to-people connect and reinforcing the longstanding friendship between the two countries. “The visit will strengthen friendship & cooperation between people to people contact for a brighter future for both the nations,” it added.
