In a transformative push towards inclusive development, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s fifth-largest retail jewellery group, has announced a ₹200 crore Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme for FY 2026–27, with a strong focus on education, women empowerment, healthcare, and sustainability. As a key highlight, 5,280 girls in Tamil Nadu will receive educational scholarships this year.

Scholarships at Scale: Investing in Girls’ Education
The initiative forms part of a nationwide scholarship programme benefiting 33,000 girls, spanning 284 districts across 18 states.
“₹200 crore has been set aside for this financial year, with a significant portion allocated to Tamil Nadu. National development can only be achieved by nurturing talent through education and effectively utilizing human resources. Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ scholarship programme will enable students to access quality education and contribute to the country’s progress,” said M. P. Ahammad.
Since inception, the programme has already supported over 1,15,000 girls, reinforcing the company’s commitment to long-term educational empowerment.
CSR Vision 2026–27: Multi-Sector Impact Across India
The ₹200 crore CSR outlay will be implemented across 3,000+ locations in 19 states, covering 15 major projects and benefiting over two lakh people.
- ₹114 crore for education initiatives
- ₹30 crore for ‘Hunger Free World’ food distribution
- ₹14.2 crore for healthcare services
- ₹25 crore for housing projects, including Grandma Home
- ₹10 crore for environmental protection
These efforts collectively aim to deliver sustainable, measurable social impact at scale.
Beyond Education: Hunger, Health & Human Dignity
Malabar’s CSR extends beyond classrooms into critical human needs:
- Daily meals for 1,15,000 people under Hunger Free World
- 12,000+ individuals supported with medical assistance
- Micro-learning centres to educate and rehabilitate street children
- Subsidised medicines through Malabar-Thanal Pharmacies
The ‘Hunger Free World’ initiative provides nutritious meals daily to 1,15,000 people across India, Zambia, and Ethiopia.
Tamil Nadu Focus: Deepening Grassroots Impact
With 35 showrooms in Tamil Nadu, Malabar has already invested ₹32.47 crore in the state, including:
- ₹20.61 crore in scholarships for 30,267 girls
- Food distribution to 6,000+ people daily
- 53 micro-learning centres established
- Housing support for vulnerable families
The new initiatives will further strengthen community-level transformation across the state.
