In a landmark moment for India’s cooperative movement, the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation has propelled its iconic Amul brand past the ₹1 lakh crore turnover mark for FY 2025–26, marking a robust 11% growth over the previous year’s ₹90,000 crore.
The federation reported a sales turnover of ₹73,450 crore—up 11.4% from ₹65,911 crore in FY 2024–25—cementing its status as India’s largest FMCG organisation. This growth has been powered by an expansive portfolio of over 1,200 product packs, a deep distribution network, and the ability to adapt swiftly to changing consumer preferences.
This milestone comes close on the heels of Amul being ranked the No. 1 cooperative globally by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), reinforcing its stature as a global dairy powerhouse.
Significantly, Amul has accelerated its global ambitions by launching fresh milk in the United States and Europe, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to see Indian food products reach dining tables worldwide.
In a parallel move to expand the cooperative ecosystem, Union Minister Amit Shah had launched the Sardar Patel Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited (SPCDF) in July 2025. The initiative aims to integrate village-level dairy cooperatives beyond Gujarat into a unified national network, paving the way for what is being termed as the “Second White Revolution.”
Reacting to the milestone, Ashokbhai Chaudhary, Chairman of GCMMF (Amul), said, “Crossing the ₹1 Lakh Crore brand turnover is a testament to the trust of millions of consumers and the tireless hard work of our 36 Lakh dairy farmers.”
Gordhanbhai Dhameliya, Vice Chairman of GCMMF (Amul), added, “Our journey to the ₹1 Lakh Crore milestone is a definitive victory for the cooperative spirit. By scaling our model nationally, we are proving that the ‘Amul Model’ is a timeless blueprint for economic democracy.”
Highlighting the global vision, Dr. Jayen Mehta, Managing Director of GCMMF (Amul), stated, “We are not just expanding our operations globally; we are expanding the very definition of what a farmer-owned institution can achieve in the modern world, ensuring that the fruits of technology and global trade reach the hands of the producers.”
With 36 lakh dairy farmers at its core and 18 member unions driving grassroots strength, Amul’s latest milestone is not just a financial feat—but a powerful endorsement of India’s cooperative success story scaling new global heights.
