In a remarkable demonstration of yoga’s power to transcend geography, culture and language, the Global Yoga Circle 2026 brought together distinguished yoga educators, researchers, wellness practitioners and enthusiasts from nine countries across four continents in an inspiring eight-day celebration marking the International Day of Yoga.
Jointly organised by the High Commission of India in Singapore and Pragya Yoga & Wellness Singapore, the virtual initiative created a vibrant global platform for learning, dialogue and cultural exchange, reaffirming yoga’s enduring relevance as a pathway to health, harmony and inner transformation.
Hosted by Singapore-based yoga educator and wellness expert Dr. Sujata Cowlagi, the programme united internationally acclaimed teachers from Russia, Malaysia, South Africa, Australia, Spain, Denmark, Brazil, India and Singapore, each offering unique insights into the transformative potential of yoga in modern life.

Reflecting the unifying theme “One Breath • One World • One Community,” the series explored a diverse range of topics including Ayurveda, Hatha Yoga, meditation, neuroscience, pranayama, Yoga Sutras and practical approaches to everyday well-being.
Among the distinguished speakers were Irina Fursova (Russia) on Yoga and Ayurveda for Beginners; Manisekaran (Malaysia) on Hatha Yoga; Pam and Kugan Naidoo (South Africa) on the Yoga Sutras; Josh Pryor (Australia) on Pranayama; Prof. Gopala (Jose Maria Marquez Jurado) (Spain) on restorative breathing practices; Maj Ingemann-Molden (Denmark) on Pratyahara; Prof. Danilo Forghieri Santaella (Brazil) on neuroscience and meditation; and Dr. Kashinath (India) on integrating practical yoga wisdom into daily living.
The event attracted participants from multiple countries, creating a truly international learning community united by a common desire for wellness, self-development and meaningful living.
A defining feature of the programme was the diversity of expertise represented. Participants gained perspectives from professionals working across yoga, Ayurveda, healthcare, neuroscience, education, academic research and community wellness, illustrating how yoga continues to evolve while remaining rooted in timeless principles.
Speaking about the initiative, Dr. Sujata Cowlagi, Founder and Director of Pragya Yoga & Wellness Singapore, highlighted the deeper significance of the gathering.

“Yoga has always been far more than physical exercise. It is a pathway to connection; connection with ourselves, with one another, and with the wider world. The Global Yoga Circle was created to celebrate that spirit by bringing together remarkable teachers from across the globe and creating a space where wisdom, compassion and community could flourish,” she said.
Organisers noted that the programme reflects the growing international recognition of yoga as a holistic approach to physical health, emotional balance, mental clarity and overall well-being.
As yoga continues to gain acceptance across cultures and continents, the Global Yoga Circle stands as a powerful example of how an ancient Indian tradition is fostering global connections, lifelong learning and collective well-being in an increasingly interconnected world.
