In a decisive push to reinforce India’s maritime shield, the XIXth District and Station Commanders’ and XVIth Regional Works Conference 2026 concluded at Indian Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North West), with Tekur Sashi Kumar underscoring “steadfast professionalism, innovation and operational excellence” as the cornerstones of safeguarding the nation’s maritime frontiers.
Held on April 17–18 at the Coast Guard Regional Headquarters (North West), the high-level conference brought together District and Station Commanders, superintendents and officers-in-charge for intensive deliberations across the region’s Area of Responsibility.
In his address, Inspector General Tekur Sashi Kumar lauded personnel for their “steadfast professionalism, dedication and operational excellence” in securing India’s maritime domain. He conducted a comprehensive review of operational readiness, technical management, infrastructure development and human resource initiatives.
Reaffirming the force’s forward-looking approach, he said the headquarters remains committed to “further consolidating its capabilities, technological edge and operational reach.”
The deliberations saw officers exchange new ideas, assess emerging challenges and share field-level experiences to chart a robust roadmap for executing the Coast Guard’s mandate. The Flag Officer emphasised the importance of “continual training, physical fitness and mental well-being among all ranks,” while also calling for “an innovative approach to duties with unwavering regard for the safety of men and materiel.”
The conference highlighted the critical role of the regional command in ensuring maritime safety, security and environmental protection, aligned with India’s broader vision of a secure and resilient maritime domain.
