What if a robot could challenge your imagination, a mathematical model could become your next big idea, or a book jacket could tell a story before a single page is turned? At SRIJAN 2026, students will not merely be asked to compete — they will be challenged to question, create, perform, experiment and think differently.
Delhi Public School-Bopal is all set to transform its campus into a bustling laboratory of young ideas on Saturday, August 22, as it hosts SRIJAN 2026, its Annual Interschool Event, bringing together approximately 850 students from around 34 leading schools across Ahmedabad.
The event promises to be a colourful collision of literature, art, culture, mathematics, science, technology and performance, giving young participants an opportunity to step outside conventional classrooms and discover what happens when learning meets imagination.
Where textbooks give way to ‘What if?’
SRIJAN 2026 has been designed around a simple but powerful premise — curiosity is the first step towards innovation.
The competitions span a remarkable range of interests, ensuring that the student who loves poetry finds a stage alongside the young coder, budding scientist, eloquent speaker, artist, strategist and technology enthusiast.
Among the highlights are Kalayatan, Nrityanjali, Beat the Grandmaster, Book Jacket Designing, Oratoria, Working Math Model, Turant Tarang (Hindi Declamation), Technovanza, Robowizard, DPS ka Chanakya, Kavyanjali, RJ/Travel Influencer, Gita Shlok Chanting and Kalarachna, among others.
Each activity has been carefully structured for different age groups, creating avenues for students to demonstrate not merely what they know, but how imaginatively they can use what they know.
A playground for ideas, talent and teamwork
The event is expected to turn the familiar idea of an interschool competition on its head by making the learning journey as important as the winning moment.
Whether constructing a working mathematical model, taking on a technology challenge, declaiming in Hindi, designing a book jacket, interpreting poetry, exploring the world of travel and broadcasting, or testing strategic thinking, participants will be encouraged to experiment and learn from one another.
The diverse competitions aim to nurture creative thinking, critical reasoning, teamwork, communication, artistic expression and scientific inquiry — skills increasingly essential in a rapidly changing world.
The presence of students from nearly three dozen schools will also create an informal exchange of ideas, perspectives and approaches, allowing young participants to discover that there can be many different answers — and sometimes even better questions — to the same problem.
From competition to confidence-building
SRIJAN 2026 is envisaged as more than a contest for trophies and certificates. It is a celebration of imagination, innovation and excellence, designed to give students the freedom to discover abilities that may remain hidden inside conventional academic routines.
For some, the spotlight may reveal a performer. For others, it may uncover an inventor, designer, strategist, communicator or problem-solver.
By bringing together diverse talents and schools on one platform, DPS-Bopal seeks to create meaningful opportunities for students to discover their potential, overcome hesitation, collaborate with peers and build confidence.
The larger objective is to nurture young learners who are not only academically equipped but also creative, compassionate, collaborative and future-ready.
As the campus prepares to welcome participating students, mentors and educators, SRIJAN 2026 promises to be a day when curiosity gets a stage, imagination gets a challenge — and young minds get permission to ask the most exciting question of all: “What if?”
