CHENNAI, JUNE 6
Inthe silent blue depths of the Andaman Sea, where sunlight fades and pressure intensifies with every metre descended, an Indian watch has etched its name into global history. Titan Watches, India’s most celebrated watchmaker, has achieved a remarkable Guinness World Record by conducting the world’s deepest underwater product photoshoot at a depth of 52.1 metres, demonstrating that Indian craftsmanship can thrive in some of the planet’s harshest environments.

- Titan Watches enters the Guinness Book of World Records with the deepest underwater product photoshoot.
- The feat was achieved at an astonishing depth of 52.1 metres in the open waters of Phuket, Thailand.
- The record-setting mission showcased the capabilities of the limited-edition Zero Hour 500M Professional Diver’s Automatic Watch.
- Five certified technical divers executed the challenging operation under real oceanic conditions.
- Achievement reinforces Titan’s ambition to position Indian watchmaking among the world’s elite performance timepiece makers.
The record-breaking mission featured one of the only 1,000 numbered editions of the Titan Zero Hour 500M Professional Diver’s Automatic Watch, a timepiece designed for serious underwater exploration and extreme performance.
A Record Attempt in the Heart of the Ocean
The historic feat unfolded off Racha Noi Island in Phuket, Thailand, a location renowned among professional divers for its challenging underwater conditions and pristine marine environment.
A team of five certified technical divers descended into the open ocean carrying specialised underwater photography equipment and the record-attempt watch. Within just seven minutes, the team reached a depth of 50 metres before pushing further to an officially recorded 52.1 metres.
Working against the clock and the unforgiving realities of deep-sea diving, the team successfully completed the underwater photoshoot during a narrow 20-minute operational window.
Unlike controlled laboratory testing, the mission was conducted entirely under authentic open-ocean conditions, making the achievement all the more significant.
When Engineering Meets Endurance
The Guinness World Record is more than a publicity milestone. It serves as a real-world demonstration of the engineering capabilities embedded within the Zero Hour collection.
Deep-water environments expose equipment to extreme pressure, reduced visibility and unpredictable conditions. The successful photoshoot highlighted the watch’s ability to function flawlessly where reliability becomes critical.
The achievement adds another feather to Titan’s growing list of technical credentials, which already includes compliance with international diving watch standards and professional validation from leading diving organisations.
Zero Hour: Built for the Moment That Matters
Launched earlier this year, Zero Hour represents Titan’s dedicated performance sports watch sub-brand.
The name reflects the defining moment before action begins—a point where precision, reliability and trust in equipment become indispensable.
Its debut collection, focused on professional diving watches, embodies this philosophy through robust engineering, advanced water resistance and performance-oriented design.
The successful deep-ocean mission has now become a living expression of the brand’s core identity.
A Global Statement for Indian Watchmaking
Commenting on the achievement, Kuruvilla Markose, CEO, Watches Division, Titan Company Limited, said the accomplishment reflects the company’s belief that Indian watchmaking can compete at the highest global level.
He noted that milestones such as ISO 6425 compliance, professional diving validations and now the Guinness World Record demonstrate Titan’s commitment to combining engineering excellence, innovation and craftsmanship.
According to him, the achievement strengthens Titan’s vision of creating world-class performance timepieces while elevating the global reputation of Indian watchmaking.
A Collection Designed for Adventure
The Titan Zero Hour collection currently comprises 12 models, offering water-resistance capabilities ranging from 100 metres to 500 metres.
Priced between ₹15,795 and ₹77,995, the collection caters to both recreational enthusiasts and serious adventure seekers looking for rugged performance timepieces.
Available through Titan World stores, premium watch retailers, leading e-commerce platforms and Titan’s official website, the collection marks a bold new chapter in India’s growing footprint in the global sports watch segment.
As the Zero Hour watch emerged from more than 52 metres beneath the ocean’s surface, it carried more than a world record—it carried a powerful message that Indian engineering is ready to dive deeper, push harder and compete on the world’s most demanding stages.
